Next happenings for the book Review by TIM LAWRENCE
Dear friend/colleague
My second book, Hold On to Your Dreams: Arthur Russell and the Downtown Music Scene, 1973-1992, is now available in the UK as well as the US.
In the last couple of days, the Village Voice named Hold On... as one of the best books of 2009, while Social Text gave it a strong write-up. To keep readers up to date, I've started a book blog that includes information about reviews, translations and general Arthur Russell updates:

Hold On... will receive its official UK launch at the ICA (the Mall, SW1Y 5AH) on Saturday 20 February, 8pm-1am. I'll be reading from the book, probably with musical accompaniment, after which the band Arthur's Landing will make its UK debut. The event is scheduled to start at 8pm and will run through to 1am, with DJs playing after Arthur's Landing.
Before that, I'll be reading from the book at Donlon Books (210 / Unit 3 Cambridge Heath Road, E2 9NQ) on Saturday 23 January. The band Killer Whale, featured heavily (as Yam Who?) on the recent Arthur Russell tribute album released by Electric Minds, will also perform an acoustic set. The event is scheduled run from 6:00-9:00, or thereabouts.
I hope to see you at one of the London readings, or somewhere else soon. And apologies if you receive this email more than once...
Tim
