Born in Virginia, son of three children, inherited from his parents love and ambitions for music. He started singing in church when he was seven and continued to sing throughout his school and college. After experiencing the fashion business in the promotion dep. for Ralph Lauren, he started his career as a singer. A call from Smack Production followed after his winning of the "amateur talent show" in Jersey and New York City.
Smack wanted him to sign with them exclusively and he accepted. His first recording with Smack was "Babylove" on the label "Cooltempo",released on a compilation dedicated to Larry Levan. He then had the opportunity to work with the light of Maw, Roger Sanchez, Erick More Morillo and with the late John Robinson from Ten City who helped him to launch his East West solo career, signed by Merlin Bob and Silvia Rome.
His first album was titled "Michael Watford". After ending the relationship with Smack Production he felt it was his responsability to help a small music industry by working with people such as Farley & Heller, Marshall Jefferson, Grant Melson, B.o.p, Ivan Jacobucci, Tuff & Jam and now Luis Radio, also inspired by working with successfull other artists En Vogue like Barbara Tucker, Robert Owens, Colonell Abrhams.
